Vokèra will be showcasing its latest renewable technologies and high efficiency products at this years Energy Show. 

Taking place at the RDS in Dublin between 14th - 15th April, the show attracts over 5,000 visitors who seek current information on the latest advancements in low energy and renewable technologies for the future sustainability of Ireland.

Government Boiler Scrappage Scheme - made easier with Vokèra

Vokèra is pleased to be supporting the new government boiler scrappage scheme, which could provide you with a grant for £400 off your new ‘A’ rated boiler in England (Similar schemes will be launched soon in Scotland and Wales, details will be available shortly). 

 Vokèra can help you through the process of applying for the grant. If you have a gas boiler and think it is around 15 years old, then contact us now at: boilerupgrade@vokera.co.uk or call us on: 01727 744038 between 8am - 12pm to find out if you qualify for the boiler scrappage scheme grant. (Please note that we can offer advice on all Manufacturers models as to their eligibility).

 The boiler scrappage scheme fund is capped, therefore if you want to take advantage of the grant, you shouldn’t delay.

Call Vokèra now and we will carry out a few basic checks with you to see if your boiler replacement may qualify for the funding, we will then contact one of our approved agents to arrange a quotation. 

 When you have your quotation, you can apply for the funding. (We will advise you on how to do this on your initial call).  Upon approval you will then be provided with a voucher for the £400. The approval process takes approximately 10 days after receipt of your application.

Following receipt of your voucher, you need to have your new ‘A’ rated boiler installed within 12 weeks. You then send in your voucher with your invoice.  This is verified against your original application and a cheque will be sent to you within 25 days.

Vokèra is delighted to offically announce the newly refurbished technical training centre in Bradford is now open.

The refurbished and extended training school was officially opened by the Mayor of Kirklees, Councillor Julie Stewart-Turner, on 24 September. The new centre gives a boost to course options for northern based installers and engineers, as we can now offer courses on a wide range of heating and hot water solutions, including the Logic approved two-day certificated training on solar thermal water heating, and air source heat pumps and courses on more traditional equipment, such as high efficiency condensing boilers.

The new courses will provide a comprehensive range of options for our customers looking to expand their knowledge and skills into the renewables market.

Liz Moules, training coordinator at Vokèra, said: “Opening the new centre in Bradford will really give installers based in the north a boost when it comes to attending training. The courses we run at our London Colney office are extremely popular and well attended, so I’m sure we will see the same uptake at the new training school.”

Vokèra is attending PHEX Chelsea this year, showcasing its popular open vent boiler range, the Mynute VHE, at stand 23-24.

The Mynute VHE is an ideal boiler for open vent heating installations where the system is in good working order but the boiler needs replacing. Available in three outputs, 12kW, 15kW and 20kW, Vokèra’s SEDBUK Band A Mynute VHE has the ability to reduce running costs by 35 per cent when compared to a standard efficiency boiler.

The 12kW and 15kW models offer a rear flue option and the pipework can be fitted to exit the boiler at the top or the bottom, giving installers versatility. In addition, these two models have been designed with particularly small dimensions, 600mm x 340mm x 340mm, and are light enough to be lifted by one person, weighing just 25kg. The size of the boiler makes it a good choice for applications where space is limited or access is awkward.

Along with the Mynute VHE, installers will be able to obtain information and details on Vokèra’s renewable solutions. The company’s renewables portfolio encompasses its Zenith solar thermal water heating system with choices between on-tile, inset and evacuated tube collectors and the Neutro biomass boiler. Also available from Vokèra is the Aria air source heat pump, a fully integrated solution with most hydraulic components built in as standard.

Vokèra has launched the UK’s first boiler specifically designed for outside installation on a balcony or mounted on an external wall. Based on it’s leading combi boiler Unica HE, the Unica Balcony HE offers the same excellent quality, reliability and efficiency, but with increased siting flexibility and the benefit of space saving in a home.

As part of its commitment to workable, renewable energy solutions, heating manufacturer Vokèra has launched Aria, the company’s first air source heat pump.

Available in three outputs – 6.8kW, 8.3kW and 11kW – Aria is suitable for new build and retrofit applications. The Aria air-to-water heat pump converts ambient heat from the atmosphere into useable energy for heating and hot water, helping homeowners to save money on their fuel bills and reduce their carbon footprint. The heat pump can be effective even when the outside temperature falls below zero, and can still produce heat from conditions as low as minus 15oC.

The Vokèra air source heat pump works by extracting the heat from the outside air, raising it via a compressor, and then transferring it to a plate heat exchanger. The exchanger then provides heat for central heating or underfloor heating, and also hot water if a cylinder is added to the system. Although flexible enough to be used for a range of applications, Aria is best suited to properties with an underfloor heating system, as they require lower flow temperatures.

Able to operate on a single-phase electrical supply, Aria has a Coefficient of Performance (CoP) of up to 1:3.9 – so for every 1kW of electrical energy used, a heat output of 3.9kW is produced, making it very efficient in operation. For additional energy savings, Aria can be used in conjunction with a solar thermal water heating system, such as Vokèra’s Zenith package.

Aria has been designed to be sited outside of a property and, without the need for any extensive installation preparations, the pump is flexible enough to be used in both new build and retrofit applications. For installers, the heat pump is straightforward to install as it incorporates many system components as standard.

As with most renewable technologies, homeowners with an air source heat pump may require a traditional boiler to provide supplementary heat to make up any temperature differentials. This ensures stable and continued end user comfort. Aria is compatible with all Vokèra boilers.

For the end user, the heat pump is very simple to use. In addition to being easy to operate, Aria is also low noise at just 58db when in use.

Robert Lockhart, Vokèra’s renewables project manager, said: “We are really excited about the launch of our Aria air source heat pump. As a flexible renewable solution, it can be used for both hot water and space heating – something many other ‘green’ options are unable to offer. And when combined with solar thermal water heating, an air source heat pump is a very environmentally friendly and practical option for homeowners.”

The introduction of Aria is the natural next step for Vokèra’s growing renewables portfolio. The company launched the Zenith solar thermal package in 2007 and since then has undergone an intensive renewable launch programme, including the addition of evacuated tubes and inset solar panels to the Zenith range, the Neutro wood pellet boiler and now the air source heat pump.
